This book is primarily designed for the students of LL.B. and other law courses in the country and particularly for candidates of Bangladesh Judicial Service examination although it is also intended to provide a useful resource for legal practitioners and for anyone undertaking training in legal skills. The principles of statutory interpretation have been illustrated by leading cases and important decisions of the Supreme Courts of both Indian and Bangladeshi jurisdiction. The book has been divided into four parts: Part A contains five chapters with critical discussion of various concepts, methods, aids and strategy of statutory interpretation. Part-B has General Clauses Act with up-to-date judicial decisions and Bengali version of the Act; Part-C deals with brief discussion of Statutory Interpretation and General Clauses Act in Bengali and then question-answer from BJS examinations.
